Blogging Shoulder To Shoulder
One of the interesting trends concerning use of social media by millenials ("Gen Y") is its use beyond "play". I continue to find examples of social media adopted as part of an educational "work style" or as a means of community outreach and/or social advocacy. The implications for business and IT decision makers is pretty clear: these tools will be expected by future workers just as older workers expected desktop productivity tools and e-mail accounts. Over time, these examples will seem pretty obvious but in many conversations I have with some strategists, everyday scenarios help paint the picture of how these tools will become ubiquitous.
Penn Nursing - Working Shoulder to Shoulder
This blog was created by nursing students at the University of Pennsylvania. These students are taking a semester-long seminar called "N545: Maternal and Infant Care in the Americas" which will culminate in a two-week expedition to rural Honduras in May. There, Penn Nursing students and faculty will work Shoulder to Shoulder with community members to improve the health and well-being of local residents.
We hope that this blog will be an excellent way to communicate with our colleagues, friends, and families. Please, stop by often to check up on our progress and give us feedback!
