Version 5.3 of the product includes what Akonix refers to as "ethical boundary" support and persistent chat rooms. The new features are designed to allow IT administrators to keep certain users from communicating with each other within certain chat contexts, a practice sometimes referred to as "ethical firewalling." In financial firms, for instance, ethical boundaries would allow administrators to keep analysts from discussing their research with traders.
